I Survived 2012 and this is what I Listened To!
(DISCLAIMER: Until 2020 all my "Best Of" lists were on Facebook in the Notes section. In 2020, when I hadn't used Facebook for 6 months, they decided to do away with Notes. I was still able to access some of them, such as this one, but the layouts are a little wonky.)
(Title Photo missing from this year)
This year had some great albums in it. Like last year, there were several albums I was looking forward to and was actually disappointed by. Yet again, there were a couple newcomers that filled in the gaps. I also decided not to do a Top 5 because there were several I couldn't choose between, but I do have some top albums of the year. Enjoy!
Mix of 2012:
1. "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts" - The Forecast
2. "Little Tyrants" - Anberlin
3. "Lisa Baby" - Walk the Moon
4. "Some Nights" - Fun.
5. "Water Runs" - Reptar
6. "Oh My God" - David Crowder Band
7. "Whispers in the Dark" - Mumford & Sons
8. "Magnet" - Now, Now
9. "Home" - Phillip Phillips
10. "Little Talks" - Of Monsters and Men
11. "Glass" - Field Mouse
12. "Someday" - Two Door Cinema Club
13. "Rabbit Holes" - Paper Route
Top Albums:
Those are definitely my top 2 albums of the year. The rest I kept going back and forth on and just couldn't decide, so here's a few more I thouroughly enjoyed.
(Hey, future Jake here! Looking back I can definitely say that Now, Now has my favorite album from this year, along with Paper Route and Walk the Moon rounding out my Top 5, but I'll be leaving this as-is for posterity.)
"The Peace of Wild Things" - Paper Route
"Walk the Moon" - Walk the Moon
"Body Faucet" - Reptar
"An Awesome Wave" - Alt-J
"Threads" - Now, Now
"Diluvia" - Freelance Whales
So that's my list! Not as extensive as past years, but hopefully 2013 holds better things in store. A few albums I'm looking forward to:
Frightened Rabbit
Paramore
Vampire Weekend
Annuals
Chiodos
The Naked and Famous (?)
